Loving My Mother and Mother-In-Law

Posted on 17:12 by clark
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mom readers out there!  I hope you had a relaxing day being pampered by your loved ones.  Even though I’m not a mom (unless you consider Molly and Chloe to be my children ~ which sadly, Matt and I kind of do), Matt still does something small for me every year, because I’m the “future” mother of his children ~ cue the “ahhh’s”….yes, he really is that sweet.  The first year we were married, he made me breakfast in bed.  Last year, he gave me three Mother’s Day cards ~ one from him, one from Molly and one from Chloe.  This year, he turned off the alarm clock (which usually goes off 45 minutes before his) and let me sleep in while he did laundry and dishes.  Yep, he definitely scored some bonus points with me for that one!  Matt’s a pretty great guy, but I whole-heartedly believe he’s great because of his mom.  Everyone always talks about their awful mother-in-laws, but I got it easy when it comes to mother-in-laws.  Linda is great, and I am blessed to have her in my life.  I can’t thank her enough for raising such a wonderful and thoughtful son.

And then there is my mom.  Proverbs 31:10 says it best when I think of my mom:  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.  I really can’t say enough about my mom in one post, but I will say that I am who I am today because of my mother.  One of the things that she is known for is being a prayer warrior, and I think that’s a pretty awesome thing to be known for.  If it were not for her faithful, fervent prayers, I may not be where I am today.   She always set a Christ-like example for me to follow, and I can’t thank her enough for that.  Someday,  I hope to be half the mom that she is.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!

Matt and I think so much of our moms.  This past year, Matt and I wanted to show our moms our appreciation for all they had done for us over the years, so we took the two of them on a cruise.   In January of 2011, we left Miami and sailed to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.  We had a blast!  We are so happy we were able to make that trip happen.  Although a cruise is nothing compared to the many sacrifices that they have shown to us over the years, we had a great time with our moms and made memories that we will have for a life time.  Here are a few of those memories.
